Some shocking news today (July 7th) as Pearl Jam have announced that their drummer of 27 years, Matt Cameron, would be departing the band.
In a dual statement posted to the band’s social media accounts (see below), Cameron thanks and praises his now former bandmates and states that there will “be more to follow.” Pearl Jam essentially does the same in their statement, but does not come with a “more to follow” statement.
There seems to be no ill will on either side of the camps at least. The question now is “what is next for the Pearl Jam after this shocking and out of nowhere announcement?”
